Wednesday Action Group

Southern Cross Station Month

Join us in reclaiming public space

For the past twenty years, the Wednesday Action Group has been holding public demonstrations around the Melbourne CBD to highlight public issues and to reclaim the shrinking public space.
In a democratic society it is critical citizens are able to peacefully use open public space to air their opinions. However, this has been challenged.

Our protests at Southern Cross station have been met by private security, calling the police to stop us campaigning outside the station, claiming Southern Cross Station is private property. We have held our ground on every occasion.
Join our August campaign outside the Station (corner Collins and Spencer St) each Wednesday between 12:00pm to 1:00pm to highlight the importance of reclaiming public spaces for citizens.
